Elements

Five elements, plus a mix

Each element shapes both the sound of the name and the epithet it tends to earn. Pick one to match your dragon, or browse Any.

Fire

Molten, harsh names of ash and flame, like Pyraxis the Worldburner or Vexoth Emberfang.

Frost

Crystalline, hissing names of rime and snow, like Sylvaeth Frostscale or Iskwyn the Pale.

Storm

Rolling, electric names of sky and tempest, like Zephyron Stormwing or Thaloth the Roaring.

Shadow

Sibilant, sunless names of void and dusk, like Nyxith the Devourer or Morryn Voidmaw.

Gold

Regal, radiant names of hoard and sun, like Aurion the Magnificent or Solarth Goldscale.

Naming tips

Making a dragon sound legendary

Let the element lead

The element shapes the sound, so a Frost name hisses while a Fire name growls. Match it to your dragon's breath and lair.

Use temperament for the title

Set Temperament to Ancient for old titles like the Eternal, Tyrant for dread ones like the Worldburner, or Feral and Elemental for compound names.

Refine, don't restart

Found a name you love but the wrong title? Choose it, hit Refine, lock the name and shuffle the title instead.

Absolutely. The names suit dragons, drakes, wyrms and dragonborn lineages in D&D 5e, Pathfinder and most fantasy RPGs. Pick an element, generate, and drop your favourite onto the stat block.
Each element shapes the sound and the epithet. Fire leans molten and harsh, Frost crystalline and hissing, Storm rolling and electric, Shadow sibilant and sunless, and Gold regal and radiant. Leave it on Any for a mix, or pick one to match your dragon.
Temperament leans the epithet. Ancient favours old titles like the Eternal, Tyrant favours dread titles like the Worldburner, Feral and Elemental favour compound names like Emberfang or Frostscale. Leave it on Any for a spread.
Yes. Turn off Include title in Options for the bare invented name, or use Refine on a chosen name to swap just the title while keeping the name.
The given name is built from sound pieces chosen for each element, then checked so it stays pronounceable and free of awkward clusters or repeats. That means you can generate endless original names rather than picking from a fixed list.
Yes, for stories, comics, video games, streams and other creative projects. Generated names are not trademarked here, but for a major commercial title it is sensible to do a quick search to make sure your chosen name is not already strongly associated with something else.
No. Each batch is checked against the names you have already seen this visit, so you can generate again and again without repeats. Use Previous to step back to an earlier batch.
