This policy explains what information The Name Foundry (“we”, “us”) handles when you use this website, and your choices. The short version: you don’t need an account, and we don’t want your personal data.
Who we are
The Name Foundry is a free collection of fantasy name generators. Contact us at hello@thenamefoundry.com.
Information we collect
We don’t require registration, and we don’t ask for your name, email or personal details to use the generators. Specifically:
- Saved names & preferences are stored in your browser’s local storage on your own device. They never reach our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- Your cookie choice is stored locally so we don’t ask again.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our host may record standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. This isn’t used to identify you.
Cookies, advertising & analytics
Essential local storage is always on. Anything non-essential, analytics or advertising, only loads after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you reject, those scripts don’t load.
We use Google AdSense to show adverts on this site. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve adverts and measure their performance, and may show adverts based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage personalised advertising in your Google account at myadcenter.google.com. For visitors in the UK and EEA, advertising cookies load only with the consent you give through our consent banner, which you can change at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for non-essential cookies, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website for essential technical processing.
Sharing
We don’t sell your data. The only third parties that may process limited technical data are our hosting provider and, if you consent, advertising/analytics providers.
Your rights
You may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no accounts or profiles, the simplest controls are yours: clear your browser storage to remove saved names and preferences, and use “Cookie settings” to withdraw consent.
Children
The Name Foundry is general-audience and doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children. We don’t require personal information from anyone.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site grows; we’ll change the “last updated” date above when we do.
